i think it really depends on your major…i can only speak for the Visual Effects and Animation department, but i think its a great school….i hear a lot of students complain that its expensive, or they want everything done for them but its an ART SCHOOL. duh its going to be expensive lol. i think you get what you pay for though. my adivsor practically picks and registers my classes FOR ME lol. all my instructors have or are currently working in the industry and that can be your step in the door if you impress them. they offer the best of equipment and facilities to their students….i think some students become lazy and dont think they actually have to work hard to get something valuable out of school. they either dont want to get a tutor (which the school provides for you for FREE if you have a C or lower grade in that class) or they dont want to take extra time to go to workshops…and then they complain that they failed. AAU is a University…not some free range art class that you can lolly gag in. you can learn A LOT from successful artists who know the industry first hand. basically, if you want it bad enough AAU can help you get that dream career…thats just my opnion
